Inertia Bases – All Types

  • Primarily designed to isolate fluid Pumps but can also be used with machines which produce high levels of vibration or those which are subjected to external forces or are simply unstable when mounted directly on Anti-Vibration Mountings.
  • Inertia Bases also reduce the motion, lower the centre of gravity and minimise the effect of unequal load distribution.
  • Three type of standard Inertia Base are available:
  • 1) Inboard Style: Manufactured from 3mm thick folded steel sheet closed off with a 3mm base plate and primer paint finish*. Featuring recessed pockets housing the Anti-Vibration Mounts. Ideal design for plant rooms where space is at a premium.
  • 2) Outrigger Style: Manufactured from 3mm thick folded steel sheet closed off with a 3mm base plate and primer paint finish*. Similar in design to the Inboard style Base, however the Anti-Vibration Mounts are located under angle bracket supports.
  • 3) Zintec Style: An economical range manufactured from 2mm thick folded Zintec sheet with a natural finish and outrigger style AVM supporting feet. This Base does not feature a closing plate on its underside.
  • All Bases incorporate wire mesh for concrete reinforcement, as standard.
  • All larger Bases include additional strengthening stringers for added rigidity
  • All Bases are designed to be a minimum of 1.5 times heavier than the equipment being supported – other ratios can be accommodated.
  • All Base types can be supplied empty, pre-filled with concrete or pre-filled with Pumps fitted. Both latter options are undertaken within our factory controlled environment and remove the need for the necessary “R.A.M.S.” documentation, associated with concrete handling and Pump fitting operations on-site)
  • No maintenance required.
  • All Bases are supplied with Open Spring type Anti-Vibration Mounts designed to support the combined load of Pump, Concrete Base and Water and retain a 50% overcapacity.
